Itanagar Hill Station

Itanagar is a fascinating hill station in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh and it is located at 350 meters above sea level. The town has pleasant cool climate and surrounded by lush green forests.  This place has oftentimes been referred to in the legend stories of Mahabharata, Ramayana and other Vedic texts. As there is no solid confirmation on the inception of this place, the speculations on the origin is mainly based on the local traditions and food habits of the people.

Best Places to Visit:

Buddhist Temple: The Buddhist temple offers a pleasant view of surrounding countryside and was sanctified by the Dalai Lama. The temple is a yellow roofed holy place which mirrors the Tibetan impact and demonstrates some great perspectives of Itanagar.

Jawaharlal Nehru Museum: The Jawaharlal Nehru Museum offers a wide accumulation of tribal art and craft, instruments, and religious items that portray the socio-social legacy and way of life of the general population of Arunachal Pradesh.

Ita Fort: Ita Fort is a chronicled fortress of a sporadic shape, manufactured for the most part with bricks. It is located in the heart of Papum Pare area.

Ganga Sekhi Lake: Ganga Sekhi Lake or Gawker Sinyi Bridge is a lovely outing spot encompassed by antiquated vegetation, orchids in full blossom on tall trees and bamboo forests located at the base of a red mud hill and accessible by an inquisitive bamboo span spreading over a little culvert.

Itanagar Sanctuary: Built up in 1978, Itanagar Sanctuary is spread over a zone of 140 sq kms of area. Comprise for the most part of semi evergreen forests, the sanctuary has a little tiger populace and visiting herds of elephants. Every year a number of voyagers come here to spend their leisure time in some adventurous activity.

Polo Park: The Polo Park is a popular destination among each age group people. Situated atop a small ridge, the Park has interesting botanical specimens and a small zoo and attracts tourists and locals towards it.
