Kufri Hill Station
Kufri is a scenic hill station located at an altitude of 2,290 m over the sea level in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. Known for charming atmosphere during summers and games hotspot during winters, Kufri is a prevalent visitor destination which offer amazing perspective of encompassing locales.
Activities: skiing, tobogganing (sliding downhill on a sled) etc.
Best Places to Visit:
Fagu: Along Hindustan Tibet Road, Fagu is a small town aside a saddle-like mountain. During winters the town is visited by large number of vacationers to attend the winter ski fests celebrated here. Whereas in summers, the town of Fagu serves as a picnic spot.
Indira Tourist Park: Situated close to Great Himalayan Nature Park, Indira Gandhi Park is one of the major tourist spot which is visited by Indira Gandhi for signing the Shimla Agreement with Pakistan in 1972 and since then the area is named as Indira Tourist Park. Numerous sightseers visit here to appreciate horse and yak rides in the recreation center.
The Himalaya Nature Park: The Himalaya Nature Park is spread over an area of 90 hectares of land which is explored for its rich flora and fauna. Some of the major wildlife found in the park are musk deer, black bear, leopard cat, barking deer and cheer pheasant.
Mahasu Peak: Mahasu Peak is the most noteworthy peak in Kufri and serves as an awesome spot for amateurs to rehearse before hitting the rougher slants amid ski season.
