Pavagadh Hill Station

The Hill station of Pavagadh alongwith Champaner and Machi comes under UNESCO World Heritage Site which reflects the grandiosity of the city by its magnificent historical background, showing 1,200 years of history and culture.  The hill of Pavagadh ascends from Champaner in three stages and this level lies at an elevation of 1,471 feet. Everyday a large number of explorers come here to offer their prayers to God at a famous and religious Mahakali temple which make this Hill station considerably more popular.

Best Places To Visit:

Kalika Mata Temple: Kalika Mata Temple is the most commended temple in the region of the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. A long flight of steps leads one to this temple as it is situated at a bluff at a significant height in the middle of the thick timberlands close Halol.

Pavagadh Hills: Pavagadh Hill made out of a ruddy-yellow shaded stone is among the most oldest rock formations in India. The hill stands roughly 800 m over the ocean level and is an important place of attraction among the tourists.

Jama Masjid: Established back in 15th century, one of the finest mosques in western India, Jama Masjid is situated around 150 feet (46 m) east of the city walls. The imposing structure is also called as Jami Masjid.

The Champaner: Pavagadh Archaeological Park: Prestigious for its Hindu and Jain sanctuaries , the Champaner – Pavagadh Archaeological Park with magnificient architecture representing a mix of Hindu and Islamic styles. After receiving the crown of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the popularity of the site has increased even more than before.

Lakulisa Temple: Built up in tenth century, Lakulisa temple got its name from Lakulisa, the originator of Pashupata Shaivism. The Pashupata Shaivism is one of the most oldest and prominent Shaivite schools situated on the highest point of Pavagadh Hill. The tranquil and quiet environment here offers unique spendor of this incredible spot.

Other major tourist attractions are: Sahar ki Masjid, Nagina Masjid, Lila Gumbaj ki Masjid, Kevda Mosque, Fort of Pavagadh and the ruined Hindu and Jain Temples, Jain Temples etc.
