Neora valley national park Packages - 07 Nights and 08 Days
Day 1: ARRIVAL BAGDOGRA/JALPAIGURI – KALIMPONG
Meeting and assistance upon arrival as our representatives welcome you and escort you to your car and then drive to Kalimpong. On arrival, check-in at hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure or you can opt. to go around to capture the scenic views. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 2: KALIMPONG – LAVA
Early morning, we will go at Lava, trek starts from here. Before you embark upon a trek to Neora Valley, you reach the small picturesque hamlet of Lava. Here you can visit the nature interpretation park to get first hand information of the bio-diversity in the region, and as an added bonus, you also get to see the Buddhist Monastery in Lava. Overnight at Lava.
Day 3: LAVA – ZERO POINT – ALUBARI CAMP
Early morning we start trek towards Zero Point. A ride of 25 km inside the park and we reach Zero Point from which the actual trek starts. The Red Panda, is a rare sight to see because they are generally very shy creatures. If you get a rare sight of this cute and cuddly creature, you bet, you are damn lucky. The journey is then through the thick growth of Bamboo and Pine and then we reach at Alubari. The forest camp at Alubari is a suitable rest stop.
Day 4: ALUBARI CAMP – JOROPOKHRI
A steady steep climbs awaits the next day to Jorpokhri or Rachela top. The area is a mountain table top surrounded by blooming rhododendron trees. During summer and spring, the Rechila Top is covered with a magical carpet of red made by flowers shed from the trees, and different types of rhododendrons – red, pink and white – can be seen. The Neora Valley National Park is home to around 200 species of birds which includes the bearded vulture, the Himalayan griffon, the red-legged falcon, the great pied hornbill, the khalij pheasant, Jerdon’s baza, different species of cuckoos and more. Apart from the Red Panda and the Asiatic Black Bear, the park boasts a large population of wild boars, leopard cats, gorals, serows, barking deers, Himalayan flying squirrels, clouded leopards and tigers etc. A trekker’s hut here makes an excellent spot to camp.
Day 5: JOROPOKHRI – RACHELA DANDA – BHOTTEKHARAG CAMP
Early morning we start trek toward Rachela Danda from Joropokhri. Rachela Danda just above this place is the highest point of the trek at an altitude of 3170 m. From here one can obtain excellent views of Bhutan, Sikkim and West Bengal in different directions. As you reach, you will be offered with a magnificent view of the Kangchendzonga Range and the valley of Bhutan on the other side. The next part of the journey is descent to Bhottekharag camp on the bank of Bhote Khola. On the way one can stop at Rachela Camp.
Day 6: BHOTTEKHARAG CAMP – SAMSING
Early morning, the trail progresses through Maple Camp and Mauchaki Camp to Samsing which is the final destination. The Neora Valley trek is through the virgin forests that are hardly explored. Hence most of the journey is though thick, dense forest with hardly any visibility beyond the trail. The Neora Valley National Park is home to some of the endangered animals like the Red Panda, Gaur, Clouded Leopard and others. The flora found here is also very diverse.
Day 7: SAMSING – SILGURI
Early morning we will drive back to Siliguri. On arrival, check in at hotel. Relax a while and then you will be taken to visit Hong Kong market, Coronation Bridge, Kali Temple etc. Dinner and Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: DEPARTURE
Early morning, have you breakfast. Check out from the hotel and board your respective flight/train to your destinations.
