One: Driver Attitude and Approach
Assess and enhance driver’s
fitness; Assess, develop and enhance Driver’s attitude towards
safe driving; Develop various skills to control the vehicle in
Emergency situations; and Demonstrate the safe driving approach
to other road users.

Two: Vehicle Awareness
Study and
understand your Vehicle Identity major vehicle
components. Understand the importance of tyres for safe
driving. Understand various 2WD & 4WD controls and their
utility
Module
Three: Essential Equipment (4WD)
Identify
essential equipment. Identify the relevant tool kit. Suitable
selection of repair/spare parts kit. Selecting the appropriate
recovery kit

Four: Vehicle Maintenance
Formulate a
pre-departure checklist. Carry out regularly scheduled Vehicle
checks. Plan proper Vehicle Maintenance Schedule

Five: Off-Road Driving Techniques
Operating 4WD
vehicle in sand. Operating 4WD vehicle in rugged
terrain. Operating 4WD vehicle over steep ascents and
descents. Safe completion of vehicle stall recovery. Conduct a
water crossing.

Six: Recovery Techniques
Safely operating
with Hi-Lift Jack, the Snatch-strap, and winching
tackle. Understand the safety precautions necessary for recovery
of vehicles, and demonstrate hand signals used for recovery
operations

Seven: Loads and Lashings
Safe loading of
vehicle. Correct positioning of loads on vehicle. Special knot
techniques used to secure loads.

Eight: Tips on Minor Breakdowns/ Repairs
Safe
mounting/change of Tyres Various repairing procedures like fan
belt breakdown, radiator leakage, leaf spring breakdown
etc.
