Introduction:

Mrugavani National Park is situated in Moinabad Mandal near Hyderabad City, Telangana, India amidst the concrete jungle. The Park is spread over an area of 3.6 square kilometers (1.4 sq mi) or about 850 acres of land.

History:

Mrugavani National Park was established in the year of 1994 which is near to Himayatsagar Lake.

Flora:

Mrugavani National Park is endowed with the last vestiges of the endemic flora of Hyderabad with species like Teak, Bamboo, Sandal, Picus, Palas, Rela.

Fauna:

Here animals at Mrugavani National park is found like jackal, sambar, forest cat, cheetal, black napped hare, porcupines, wild boar, mongoose and spotted deer. Some of the reptiles like lizard, Russell’s viper, partridges, pythons, cobra and rat snakes. The avian population are peacocks, quails, warblers, babblers, flower peckers, lapwings, ducks, partridges and curlews. Over 100 species of birds are found in the park.

Attractions:

There are many programs conducted for the visitors. Inside the park there is tower for bird viewers. This park has educational centre who likes to know more about birds. It also has auditorium and museum.

Best time to visit:

Mrugavani National Park is open throughout the year. Best time to visit the park is during the months of October to February.

Timings:

Visitors are advised to get in touch with officials of the sanctuary for complete information entry timings and fee. Usually the Park remains open from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
