Ranikhet is a hill station situated in the Almora district of the Indian state of Uttarakkand. It is also known as the Queen’s meadow or the Queen’s field. The place received its name from the queen, Rani Padmini who chose the area as her place of residence and therefore the name Ranikhet. This popular tourist destination was founded in the year 1869 and came to be known as the most beautiful place to visit in India. Ranikhet is situated in the Himalayan ranges which make it more popular as a tourist spot. Unlike other hill stations Ranikhet has maintained its pristine charm which allows peace and solitude to prevail in the city.

Katarmal or the Sun temple which is closely situated to Ranikhet is about 25 km away from the destination. If you enjoy trekking then this is the best place for you to visit as it can lead you to the sun temples of India. One of the temples is Katarmal and the other is Konark. It is one the oldest temple in the country and has the idol of Sun God and therefore the name, Sun temple.
Dwarahat is another tourist attraction which is famous among the tourists visiting Ranikhet. It is about 37 km away from Ranikhet and is very famous for its exquisite architecture.
The Golf Course is another tourist attraction spot which is quite popular. it is the second largest natural golf course in India. It is very popular among the golf players as it provides a filed of nine holes which can be repeated. With so many attractive places to visit you must surely visit the place.

Reaching Queen’s Field by train is very convenient as the nearest station is Kathgodam Railway station which is just about 80 km from Ranikhet. Traveling by bus is another better option as the city is connected to nearby cities like Almora, Nainital, and Bareily which are situated at short distances.
