Kakeri Lake Trek – 9 Nights and 10 Days

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival Chandigarh

Upon arrival, our represntative meets you and gives you a brief overview of the entire trek. And then our chauffeur takes you at your pre-booked Hotel. After checking into the hotel, relax and rejuvenate your body.

Evening is free for shopping. Overnight stay at Hotel in Chandigarh.

Day 2: Chandigarh

In the morning after leisurely Breakfast at the Hotel, take a visit to Rose Garden, Rock Garden, and Government Museum. Evening is for baoting at Sukhna Lake.

Overnight stay at Hotel in Chandigarh.

Day 3: Drive to Dharamshala

Early morning after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Dharmshala. On arrival, check into your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure as the very next day we start our Kakeri Lake Trek.

Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 4: Drive to Ghera and Trek to Kareri Village

Get ready for the day as today we actually start our Kareri Lake Trek. After having a good healthy breakfast, we drive to Ghera. Ghera will be our starting point of Kareri LakeTrek. A gradual climb through dense forests of pine will lead us at Kareri village. We walk on terrain with gentle slope, and later the track starts descending. There are multiple water points at the head of the meadow for replenishing our water supply. At the end of the ascent, is Kakeri Village, our first campsite.

Day 5: Trek to Kakeri Lake

Subsequent to morning Breakfast, start the trek to Kakeri Lake which is our standard goal. Intially, there is a lofty climb through thick forest along the Liund River till Lioti. After crossing the bridge, follow the trail that keeps running along the river which is gushing down and from here a precarious climb of about 30 minutes we go over an another bridge which lead us Harote. From Harote, a narrow funnel like valley will take us at a elliptical shaped Kakeri Lake. Appreciate the entrancing view of crystal clear water, snow topped mountains, pleasant meadows, and open blue skies. Close to Kakeri Lake there is a little Shiva Temple which is revered by pilgrims from all around again and again. At the time of Janmashtami, villagers takes a plunge into the blessed lake and enjoys overnight prayers held there. Appreciate the grand excellence of this Lake in the lap of nature.

Day 6: Kakeri Lake

Today is a well deserved rest day. Spend your time at the lake side and enjoy the enchanting views of surroundings. The campsite for this night will be another enchanting meadow, and from here you will be able to see Minkiani Pass, Baleni Pass and a valley below.

Day 7: Trek to Ghera and Drive to Dharamshala

Today is the last day of Kakeri Lake trek. After breakfast at leisure, walk down to Ghera, from where, we drive straight to Dharamshala. On arrival, check-in at hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Dharamshala

After morning Breakfast at the hotel, proceed out for Dharamshala sightseeing tour. Take a visit to Kangra Art Museum, Cricket Stadium, Tea Garden, and Chamunda temple .

In the evening, go for boating at Dal Lake.

Overnight in Dharmashala.

Day 9: Dharmshala (Mcleodganj local)

In the morning after Breakfast at the hotel, leave for Mcleodganj sightseeing tour where you will be visiting Norbulinka Museum, War Memorial, Dalai Lama Temple, Bhagsu waterfalls, Bhagsunag Temple, and Naddi.

In the evening, enjoy the panoramic view of sunset from Sunset point.

Overnight in Dharamshala.
