Chittorgarh has lots of destinations that must be visited on your journey.
The Chittorgarh Fort is one such fort of Rajasthan that still has the feel of heroism and sacrifice in it. You will be able to feel it once you enter the fort. Passing by a zigzag road of about a kilometer you will get to see the entrance of this gigantic fort. Before reaching the main gate, which is known as Surajpol, you will have to first pass by seven huge gates. In between you will get to see cenotaphs which were built in honor of Kula and Jaimal who died in mid 15th century.
The next destination that you can visit in Chittorgarh is Vijay Stambh. This is a tower built by the well-known Maharana Kumbha in about the 14th century. This tower is a 9-story one that is about 37 meters high. In order to reach the terrace you will have to climb up around 160 steps. You will be able to see the most amazing view of Chittorgarh from the terrace.
Then you have another tower which should not be skipped at all. It is the Kirti Stambh and it was constructed as a dedication to Lord Aadinath who is the First Jain Tirthankar. This is a seven-story building and is more than 20 meters in height. It was built in the 12th century by a Jain merchant.
Within the Fort of Chattisgarh, you will find a very huge monument known as Rana Kumbha Palace. Queen Padmini self-immolated herself along with many other women so that their pride is protected.
Then you have Padmini Palace which is a palace where Alauddin Khilji saw the strikingly beautiful manifestation of the Queen and decided to win her at any cost. This led to the Jauhar, which is the self-immolation, of the queen at the Kumbha Palace.

How to Reach
In order to reach Chittorgarh you need to choose either the rail route or the roadway because there is no airport nearby except for Delhi. Therefore if you land at Delhi you will either have to take a rail route or reach there via road. There are frequent trains passing from Chittorgarh and have a very frequent bus service from Kota. Ajmer, Udaipur, Bundi, etc.
