Mehrangarh Fort

The 5 km long majestic fort on a 125-meter high hill is one of the most impressive and formidable structures. Although invincible from the outside, the fort has four gates approached by a winding road. Within the fort are some magnificent palaces with marvelously carved panels, latticed windows, and evocative names. Not worthy of these are the Moti Mahal, the Phool Mahal, the Sheesh Mahal, the Sileh Khana and the Daulat Khana. These palaces house a fabulous collection of trappings of Indian royalty including a superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings of various schools, musical instruments, costumes, and furniture.

Jaswant Thada

A cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in 1899 A.D. in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Within the main cenotaph are the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers.

Umaid Bhawan Palace

The only 20th-century palace built under the famine relief project that gave employment to famine struck population. The palace was completed in 16 years. This opulent edifice in sandstone is still the residence of the former rulers with a part of it running as a hotel and remaining part as a museum.

Mandore Gardens

Mandore is an ancient town and was the seat of the Pratiharas of Mandavyapura, who ruled the region in the 6th century CE. Even after the disintegration of the Gurjara-Pratihara empire, a Pratihara family continued to rule at Mandore. This family formed an alliance with the Rathore chief Rao Chunda to defend its chiefdom against the Tughluq dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate. Rao Chunda married a Pratihara princess of Mandore, and received the Junagarh Fort in dowry; the Fort served as his family's capital until 1459 CE when Rao Jodha shifted it to the newly-founded city of Jodhpur.

Clock Tower

Ghanta Ghar was built by the Late Shri Sardar Singh Ji of Jodhpur. Adjacent to the tower, there is the Sadar Market that is frequented by travellers on shopping binge. From this market, sightseers can buy Rajasthani materials, clay dolls , camels and elephants miniature, marble inlay work and silver jewellery.

I just returned from the most incredible adventure of culture, humanity & safaris. Tanuj Choudhary prepared my travel itinerary and it was filled with diversity and flexibility. When the Canadian Embassy advised for me to return back to Canada as soon as possible due to the pandemic Coronavirus, Tanuj promptly assisted me with all the internal flight and hotel arrangements. My driver, Nand was extremely polite & assisted in whatever I needed. His professionalism & expert driving skills was outstanding.I highly recommend Rajasthan Four Wheel Drive for the individualized and safe travel. Great Service

I actually went to India in late 2018 and used the service from four wheel drive to visit several places in Rajasthan. My driver named Narwal gave my friend and me a very lovely service. The most impressive thing is that every restaurant he took us to, served the best food ever. I really enjoyed that trip and have been thinking of it lately. Anil also coordinated the service for us very well. I hope things will get better from the pandamic soon and hope to visit India again. I also hope that Anil and Narwal are doing well.
