Mehrangarh Fort: Perched atop a 125-meter-high hill, Mehrangarh Fort is Jodhpur's most prominent landmark. The fort complex offers a glimpse into Jodhpur's royal past with palaces, museums, temples, and courtyards. 

Umaid Bhawan Palace: A 20th-century palace built in the Indo-Western architectural style, Umaid Bhawan Palace is part museum and part luxury hotel.

Jaswant Thada:  A white marble cenotaph built in 1899, Jaswant Thada is an architectural marvel dedicated to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. 

Mandore Gardens: Located around 8 kilometers from Jodhpur, Mandore Gardens is a historical complex that served as the capital of the Marwar kingdom before Jodhpur. The gardens house cenotaphs of Jodhpur's rulers, temples, and a museum. 

Clock Tower: Situated in the heart of the old city, Jodhpur's Clock Tower is a popular landmark and bustling marketplace. 

Mahamandir Temple: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Mahamandir Temple is one of the oldest temples in Jodhpur, known for its intricate carvings and unique architecture. 

Sardar Market: A heaven for shopaholics, Sardar Market is a bustling marketplace offering a wide variety of Rajasthani handicrafts, textiles, spices, and souvenirs. 

In addition to these must-visit places, Jodhpur also offers experiences like camel safaris in the Thar Desert, witnessing the traditional Rajasthani dance performances (especially during festivals), and exploring the Bishnoi villages known for their wildlife conservation efforts.

Jodhpur gets its nickname "Blue City" from the characteristic blue houses lining the streets in the Brahmin district near Mehrangarh Fort. The blue paint was originally used by Brahmins, the highest Hindu priestly caste, but the tradition spread throughout the old city.

The best time to visit Jodhpur depends on your tolerance for heat. The pleasant weather season is October to March, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 24°C (50°F to 75°F). April-June and September-October are shoulder seasons with fewer crowds but hotter temperatures. July-August is the monsoon season with occasional rain and the least crowded time to visit, but not ideal for sightseeing.
