Ajmer was one of the favorite residences of the Mughals. This is also one great cultural and educational center that attracts a lot of tourists. The city market and the Agra gate are two good places which you can take a look at. Ajmer is also one of the bases when you wish to visit the dwelling place of Bhramha which is Pushkar. It is just 11km away towards the west along with a temple and a lake. The Pushkar Lake is said to be very sacred as the Hindus take a dip into it to wash their sins during the time of Kartik.
Lord Bhramha has a lot of importance in Hindus and thus there are many tourists who are attracted to Pushkar and at times stay too. It has also been noticed that people who visit this place once fall in love with it at first sight. There are a few good attractions here too which you should not at all miss. Savitri temple is very famous here because the mornings here are at their best and gives a pure feeling. Varah temple originally built in the 12th century is also worth taking a look at. It was first destroyed by Aurangazeb as he was upset with the
huge idol there but then was rebuilt by Raja Sawai Jai Singh.
The elegance of the Mahadeva temple here is just worth watching. It has been said by a British traveler that the white marble Mahadeva image with five faces and its ornaments is just mesmerizing. Ramvaikunth temple is also one of its kind as it has the idols of almost 361 different deities. Apart from this, you can also take a close look at the ghats and the other culture existing there.
